about

In February 2020, Christopher Culpo and Catherine Sikora reconvened in Paris, where their collaboration started five years before, and spent four days recording at l’Atelier de la Main d’Or. The resulting work is another step in the evolution of the musical relationship that has developed, with one major distinction being that Sikora plays her soprano sax for the first time in this duo. As with their first release The Spectral Life of Things, Mimesis is illustrated with artwork by Anne Graaff who has enlisted form and color to give a personal visual response to the music.

The artists give special thanks to Rebecca Tepfer, founder of the Atelier concerts, and to David Tepfer for being a wonderful welcoming host and for making this work possible.
